Summary

Rosario chases Mashiba with a barrage of punches as the latter steps back. Mashiba counters one of Rosario's punches. Sendō mentions to Miyata that Rosario's body seems first-rate and may have better movement than Mashiba. Sendō adds that Rosario's usual tactic of going headfirst into slugfests is not working this time. Miyata asks if it means that Mashiba is the mature one in the ring. Sendō believes he is, and Miyata states that Sendō should learn from Mashiba then, making Sendō angry. After Mashiba gets Rosario to the ropes by hitting him with another right, Mashiba throws a barrage of punches at Rosario's guard. A precise right hits Rosario's face, causing his knees to buckle. Mashiba takes the opportunity to throw a one-two combination. Mashiba's left gets blocked, and, when he throws his right, Rosario puts his front foot behind Mashiba's to get into a favourable distance at Mashiba's side and lands a right hook counter on Mashiba's face, causing him to go down. Miyata notes how the range and positioning helped Rosario, as it is extremely difficult to see a Southpaw's right hook coming over one's shoulder. Mashiba looks at Ippo and Kumi, getting angry after seeing Kumi worryingly putting her hands on Ippo, wanting him to get his hands off of Kumi. Ippo motions for Mashiba to get up. Mashiba didn't realise he went down and gets up at the count of eight, continuing the match. As soon as the referee signals to continue the match, Rosario rushes towards Mashiba.
