Summary
Taihei and Kintarō tells Ippo how they have been having an easier time training, and their confidence has improved as well. The two students express their desire to take the pro test to become pro boxers. Ippo, reluctant at first, decides to go through with their request, making the duo excited. Ippo wonders why they are so excited about it, but remembers he was the same way, thinking that the door to a gym is like a gateway to another dimension. Ippo, Taihei, and Kintarō run to the Kamogawa gym to ask Kamogawa and Yagi about the pro test. When they arrive, they see Kamogawa punishing Takamura for acting up. At the Naniwa Boxing Club, Mari interviews Sendō about his upcoming match against Ricardo. Sendō claims he will win by knockout, which Mari questions him if he can see a path that leads to victory against an invincible champion. Sendō answers that everyone who lost to Ricardo showed him the path, and that "undefeated" doesn't mean "invincible," it just means he hasn't faced him yet. At the Tōhō gym, Fujii asks Mashiba of his thoughts about the unofficial offer for a world title match, believing that since the champion is strong, he must be already researching him. Mashiba ignores him. Fujii begins to ask another question, but he gets cut off by Mashiba, who tells him to be quiet and just watch him.
