Summary

Mashiba goes on the offence, landing a left on Rosario's face. As Rosario is unsteady, Mashiba tries to throw a right, however, their left legs collide, causing Mashiba to trip and fall. While the audience thinks that Rosario tripped Mashiba on purpose, Ippo knows that both boxers aren't quite on steady footing, so it wasn't on purpose. Sawamura remembers Miyata losing a similar way against Mashiba, thinking that it is karma. Sendō calls out for Mashiba to cut off from the cycle of karma. After Mashiba gets up from the slip, both boxers throw a left. Mashiba is the one to land his left, hitting Rosario's face and sending him stumbling to the ropes. The referee gets in-between them as the sixth round ends. As Rosario gets to his corner, Mr. Bin is shocked by how swollen his face is. In Mashiba's corner, Mashiba struggles in his attempt to thank his seconds while the Tōhō coach advises him to not talk and to focus on breathing instead. As both boxers get up to leave their corners, Rosario tells Mr. Bin that he will definitely be coming back to Japan, while Mashiba, wanting to make up for the fact that he is unable to thank his seconds, tells the Tōhō coach that he will give him the belt to make up for it. The seventh round begins.
