Summary

Mashiba widens his feet position of his Hitman Style, making Rosario think that he is trying to hit him with a counter. Rosario throws a left, however, with Mashiba's left foot sticking far out, Rosario can't reach him. Mashiba lands a right jab counter that makes Rosario lean over from the pain, exciting the audience and shocking Mr. Bin. Miyata is impressed by how Mashiba sticking his front foot out and widening his stance created more distance that prevented Rosario from landing his punch. Rosario misses two of his punches and gets countered both times before taking a distance. Miyata believes that it isn't just practising enough that let Mashiba do the strategy, but the calibre of the sparring partner, thinking that quality is more important that quantity. Mr. Bin is surprised at Mashiba, as it should be the first time he has seen a Southpaw at this level, wondering if it really isn't the first time for him. The Tōhō coach is grateful to Ippo for helping Mashiba, as he believes that there was no way he could adapt like this. Mashiba continues countering Rosario's attempts to hit him as the latter is unable to reach him. Just as Mashiba was about to land a Chopping Right on the defenceless Rosario, the referee steps in as the second round ends. Mashiba looks at Ippo as the latter gives a thumbs up.
