Summary
Outside the Kōrakuen Hall, Fujii mentions to Mari how Wally will most likely be labelled a genius after the match due to him cutting Ippo off from starting his attacks that make him the "Wind God." While Mari thinks it was a typical match for Ippo, Fujii notes that Ippo got hit too much and will probably have to recuperate for a while and it is not clear who will go further in the world stage in the near future. Fujii leaves while pointing out how he hasn't seen many final scenes where both boxers made the face that Ippo and Wally did after the match ended. Ippo wakes up in his changing room and his gym mates starts asking questions about the match. Ippo tells his curious gym mates how he thought he saw a bird flying at the end, which he realises was just the towel Miguel threw, and that he thinks Wally is amazing. After Ippo and Kamogawa leave the room so that Ippo can see the doctor, Takamura makes fun of Aoki, Kimura, and Itagaki for being excited after seeing Ippo win and then beat Aoki and Kimura after they claim that genius types like Takamura are afraid of seeing the results of hard work. As Ippo goes into the doctor office, Kamogawa waits by the door as he notices Miguel near by. Miguel gives Kamogawa a bunch of bananas as gift to him and Ippo from Wally, and claims that Ippo is a splitting image of Kamogawa with his stubbornness, however, he adds that that strength will be his downfall, as the both of them are headed towards a great disaster.
