Summary

Wally hits a defenceless Ippo with multiple combinations. Ippo gets a chance to put his guard back up during the barrage of punches and prepares to throw another left body blow, but Wally steps to Ippo's side, preventing it from happening. Ippo wants to stop Wally's footwork, so he turns around and attempts another left body blow. Disappointed that Ippo seemingly only knows body blows, Wally breaks his guard with one punch and hits Ippo with a barrage of punches. Ippo gets his guard back up and ducks low for another left body blow attempt. Wally breaks his guard again with a right uppercut with his fist sideways to go through a small gap in Ippo's guard. Ippo almost falls before catching himself, thinking that he wishes to accomplish small goals and beat him one step at a time. Ippo rams into Wally's body, and Wally predicts that he will have to parry another left body blow. Noticing Wally is looking at his shoulder and elbow to see when he will throw a punch, he plans to throw something he can't block, and if he does see it coming, something that will fly at the shortest path. Wally sees a left body blow coming and starts to block it. However, the left body blow takes a shorter path than he is used to, and Wally doesn't block it in time. The punch only taps Wally's body. Wally retaliates with a left hook that hits Ippo's face. The fourth round ends, and Kamogawa is shocked when he sees Ippo smiling on his way to the corner. Ippo informs Kamogawa that he has reached his first milestone: touching him. Ippo plans to keep touching Wally while aiming for bigger targets one step at a time slowly.
