Summary
Ippo, Kamogawa, Yagi, and Shinoda are shocked that Wally landed a Smash. Kamogawa yells out to Ippo that it doesn't matter if Wally can do that, since if he doesn't stick to Wally, he won't get anywhere. Ippo starts charging forward again with his Peek-a-Boo Style. Wally enters the Hitman Style and throws Flicker Jabs that hit Ippo's guard. Ippo is shocked, but decides he should move further anyway. Ippo gets close, and Wally jumps to the side again. Takamura tells Aoki, Kimura, and Itagaki that he guessed wrong thinking that Wally is similar to Hawk, as he just able to use the same kind of moves. Aoki and Kimura wonder how he is able to use techniques that Hawk, Mashiba, and Sendō uses in just three matches. Takamura doubts Wally even heard of those boxers and isn't trying to copy anyone, he believes that Wally is just punching where it makes sense to punch and dodging in the direction it makes sense to dodge without learning how to. Takamura claims that Wally was just born with the thing Aoki, Kimura, and Itagaki lack: talent, but he thinks in Wally's case one could call it "wild instinct". Takamura adds that the fact Wally is using technique they are familiar with is just a coincidence, and doubts that what he has done is all that he has, thinking that he has more up his sleeve. Miguel thinks that being able to stop Ippo for even an instant is enough for Wally to escape, however, he feels that the loss of stamina will be a problem for both boxers later in the match. Aoki and Kimura notes how Ippo hasn't touched Wally ever since the down in the first round, wondering if Wally has been in control of the pace the entire time. Itagaki doesn't think so since Ippo has a lot of experience with people trying to keep their distance from him, and he believe Ippo is already adjusting to handle it. Ippo dashes towards Wally with the Peek-a-Boo Style while weaving his side-to-side. Ippo goes past Wally's Flicker Jabs without taking a hit, and when he gets close, he follows Wally's attempts to jump to the side. Itagaki notes how Ippo is leading Wally exactly where he wants him to be. He explains that rather than going in a straight line like before, he is moving in a zigzag pattern, letting him to be able to prevent Wally from running to the left or right. Ippo continues running in a zigzag pattern towards Wally, who is getting closer to the corner.
