Summary
Ippo dashes towards Wally and attempts to hit him with a liver blow, however, Wally, knowing that he won't be able to block it in time jumps back. Takamura thinks that Wally is like a monkey, jumping back on his own to avoid being blown back. Ippo chases Wally before the latter could recover from jumping back. Aoki and Itagaki note how it didn't look like Ippo was surprised by Wally jumping back, which Takamura thinks it is because Ippo anticipated that Wally could do that, which is why it is no wonder Ippo is so focused. Wally jumps back again as Ippo came close to him, however, the action put Wally's back on the ropes. Ippo gets close again and hits Wally's guard with a barrage of punches. Wally tries to fight back with a left hook, however, Ippo knocks the attack away. Ippo prepares to throw a left body blow, however, Wally jumps to the side, escaping the ropes. Ippo throws a left hook at Wally from a long distance. While it wasn't it direct hit, Ippo felt an impact on his pinky. Wally falls down since Ippo's pinky finger hit the tip of Wally's jaw.
