Summary

Volg was expecting Elliott to be able to block the Hien at some point, but still is impressed by it, believing that it will take a while before the match goes anywhere. Elliott believes that boxers at Volg's level usually accommodates for having their best punches blocked, wondering if Volg is thinking two or three steps ahead. Elliott approaches Volg from a low position, and Volg predicts that he is wanting him to think he is aiming for a body blow while he is really aiming for his face. Volg blocks Elliott's left starts throwing Hiens. Elliott dodges the Hiens and parries one Hien that came from below. Volg throws more Hiens that Elliott dodges without having his guard up, making Volg and Dankichi believe that he has fully seen through the Hien. Elliott notes how when Volg changes the direction of his punches, he toes press in deeper than with a regular left. Volg sees Elliott coming in from below again, thinking that he is trying to go for another high attack, but notices that the angle of his elbow is different, and blocks the body blow. Volg believes that the punches Elliott is throwing now is a set up for a powerful right straight, but he doesn't want to underestimate them just because they are setup punches. Elliott thinks that the boxing ring is always flashy, but when someone is against the best in the world and when it is two boxers with similar tools, it is quiet like a game of chess, where it is a battle of wits and psychology. Feeling as if his legs have mostly recovered, Volg decides to make the first move, following Elliott with left jabs and Hiens that Elliott dodges. Volg feels his sense of the ring and his speed are both back now.
