Details
- Title Page Character(s): Takuma Saeki, Manabu Itagaki
Summary
Itagaki throws a right counter against Saeki's right. Just as Itagaki's right is hitting Saeki's face, Saeki lands a left hook counter on Itagaki's face. Itagaki steps back and wonders if Saeki saved his right to use it as a feint for his left. After dodging some Flicker Jabs, Itagaki sees a right coming, thinking it is bait for his left, however, he gets hit as the right wasn't a feint. Saeki proceeds to feint with both his left and his right, leaving Itagaki confused as to which punch will be real, getting hit multiple times. Itagaki tries to attack, but Saeki is able to dodge his attacks while landing his. While Shinoda yells out to Itagaki to stop trying to fight at middle range and to get close to Saeki, Itagaki thinks that he doesn't want to pretend he is an in-fighter, wanting to move around at middle range since the match is to decide who is the fastest. As Itagaki gets hit again, Ippo wonders why it is happening. Takamura explains that when two out-boxers fight, spacing is the most important factor in determining victory, and Itagaki has lost control of the ring.
