Summary

Saeki tries to avoid looking at Itagaki while he is moving his body at random, but that leads into him getting hit with more body blows. Saeki bends over in pain, and Itagaki throws a right aiming at Saeki's face. Saeki sways back to avoid the hit. Due to the damage in his legs, Saeki can't pull his body back up from the sway, so Itagaki throws a right straight. The punch hits Saeki's face, but Saeki twists his neck to minimise the damage. Itagaki throws left jabs that Saeki dodges. Both boxers hit each other with a left dual exchange on their faces as the third round ends. Mari mentions to Fujii how Itagaki has taken control of the ring now, noting that it is hard to tell what will happen next. Fujii wonders why Itagaki's rhythm suddenly improved, why Saeki can no longer see him, and how Itagaki punch so accurately with his right eye swollen shut. At Itagaki's corner, Itagaki tells his seconds that he still can't see out of his right eye due to it being swollen. Yagi asks if Itagaki's depth perception was off since he landed many hits despite his right eye being still swollen. Itagaki mentions that he was seeing the ring from above. Realising that the fourth round is next, Itagaki proceeds to focus in order to beat Ippo's knockout time. At Saeki's corner, Saeki's coach tells him that he is certain that he has the lead in points, and while him and Itagaki are both badly hurt, he still has a chance. Saeki thinks that while he is hurt, it is not in the same way, telling his legs to hang in there. As the fourth round begins, Itagaki gives up on thinking about Shiritori, and instead focuses on focusing. Itagaki begins doing the Ali Shuffle while Saeki puts his guard up.
