Details
- Title Page Character(s): Ippo Makunouchi, Antonio Guevara
Summary
Ippo continues to attack and push Guevara toward the corner. The audience gets behind him. Sendō thinks Ippo is looking good, but Miyata's silent. Shinoda, Yagi, and Kamogawa discuss Ippo not being consistent, and he seems off. Ippo traps Guevara in the corner. Miyata notices that Ippo's not covering his jaw, and his punches usually not coming from the inside like they usually do. He wonders if Ippo wants to get hit with a counter, and notes he is off his game. He thought it might be cause Ippo is fighting a Southpaw, where it is hard to gauge the range, but he know the distance that is the problem. It is the way Ippo dodges, connects, and links all of his attacks that are wrong. Ippo looks nothing like the person he knew. Kamogawa knows that Ippo's not using the boxing he taught him. Yagi mentions Ippo's need to switch it up, and Kamogawa remembers something Nekota told him about being punch drunk. Shocked, Kamogawa thinks there is no way it could be true since the tests didn't find anything. Kamogawa starts connecting the dots, Takamura's comment about Ippo being broken, stuff Nekota's mentioned, and Miguel's comment about Ippo heading toward a great disaster. Ippo continues to pound at Guevara in the corner, and Ippo plans on using the new Dempsey Roll once Guevara throws a counter. Guevara throws it, Ippo ducks and starts twisting to throw it, but he goes down instead. The audience wonders if it was a slip, but the referee rules it a down. Everyone is shocked since it barely grazed him. Mashiba comments that Ippo's loss to Nagumo wasn't a fluke, and Sendō doesn't want to listen, bur realises Takamura might be right that Ippo is weaker now. Kamogawa starts to break down emotionally, and wonder if Ippo is really broken. Miyata now irritated, wonders what happened to Ippo since he didn't come to watch that.
