Summary
On the roof of the Kamogawa gym, Ippo, Aoki, and Kimura talk about how they thought Takamura's match against Bison as amazing and notices the huge amount of reporters waiting for Takamura to come to the gym. Takamura arrives to the gym in a suit with boxes in his hands. Takamura tells the reporters that it was the obvious outcome, and that he got a call from the cabinet office, as they want to give him the people's honour award. The reporters, Ippo, Aoki, and Kimura are surprised by the reveal, and the boxers go into Kamogawa's office. Takamura tells Ippo, Aoki, and Kimura that he was going to decline the award offer until he saw Kamogawa's positive reaction and decided to take it. When Kimura asks what is in the boxes Takamura carried to the office are, Takamura opens it and it is revealed to be a display shelf for his world champion belts, telling Kamogawa that while it is bare now, he will fill it up with more belts soon. As Takamura begins to leave to get his leg looked at, Kamogawa tells him good job for now, and that he did well. Watching Takamura leave, he can't imagine the kind of trouble maker Takamura would be if he never boxed, but he feels that he has an incredible surrogate son. Takamura goes to the Yamaguchi Chiropractic, where Yamaguchi checks on Takamura's leg. She notices how his heel bone doesn't look good and the back of his calf is in bad shape as well. Yamaguchi throws Takamura out of a window after he tried to get on her when she claimed that Ippo comes to the clinic a lot. Ippo and Itagaki walk near the area and suddenly gets chased by Takamura, who is crawling on all-fours in his underwear. At the gym, Yagi gets a phone call from the cabinet office, as they have decided to retract the offer for the people's honour award, but doesn't tell Yagi why.
