Summary
As Ippo and Yamada's match ends, Ippo states he fought a strong challenger. Kamogawa and Yagi go up into the ring and congratulate the champion as they put the JBC featherweight belt on their boxer. Ippo then answers the Kōrakuen Hall interviewer's questions by saying that it was hard fighting a former gym mate and that his punches were amazing. When asked if he regrets fighting a kōhai, he replies that he did not and that he himself lost once and it taught him a lot about boxing, thus, he believes that when Yamada comes back, he will be much stronger than he was today. After leaving the ring, Ippo gets scolded by Kamogawa for taking too many hits, he then states he can not visit Yamada, as the winner has nothing to say to the loser. At Yamada's room, his coach asks if he said all he needed to say to Ippo in the match and is satisfied, Yamada replies that he did. His coach is sadden that Yamada is retired now, however Yamada states he is not retiring after hearing Ippo's words that he would be stronger after losing. Yamada then sees Ippo, who he wants to greet, however he comes to a conclusion that he said all he needed to say at the ring. As Ippo showers, he says that Yamada really got stronger and his Solar Plexus Blow was incredible.
