Summary
At the end of the first round, in Yamada's corner, his coach states that piling on body blows until Ippo falls won't work as his reaction to body blows are slow, but he tells Yamada that there is one body blow that can be effective. At Ippo's corner, Kamogawa tells Ippo what it means to be pro, which is to do any job at ease, to answer the customers demands and to devote oneself to fight. The second round begins with both fighters rushing forward, Ippo blocks body blow after body blow as Yamada's coach is worried that his body blow strategy won't work. Ippo reads Yamada's body blows so well that all the hits just hit air. Yamada then shoves Ippo's arm away and aims for the solar plexus, successfully doing the Solar Plexus Blow. Ippo is stunned as he can not breathe, with Yamada throwing a one-two at the stunned Ippo. Ippo then realises what Kamogawa said about what it means to be pro, as Yamada is devoting himself to fight much more than himself, Ippo comes to an conclusion that Yamada is a pro boxer.
