Summary
As Ippo realises Yamada's devotion to their fight, Yamada batters his guard as he aims for body blows. Ippo delivers a direct one-two, then Yamada steps in, pushes Ippo with his shoulder and throws many blows to Ippo's body. Ippo begins to dodge his body blows, however Yamada shoves Ippo's arm away with his hand and throws a Solar Plexus Blow. Aoki, Kimura, and Itagaki notices that the referee can't see the foul, as Yamada is cautious. Kamogawa praises the action as avoiding being called on your fouls is an art form, something that Yamada has that allowed him to survive, thus, he believes Yamada is good and Ippo's soft. Yamada begins throwing combinations on Ippo's guard until he shoves Ippo's guard again and lands another Solar Plexus Blow. Takamura states that Yamada has only learned the Solar Plexus Blow during the interval, meaning he has trained his legs for two years to be able to do anything he is told to do. Yamada delivers a hit that makes Ippo's face fly up, Yamada then throws more punches to Ippo's guard. Aoki and Kimura spots Yamada's mother watching the match. Ippo notices that Yamada has gotten stronger, remembering the time he barely kept up with him during roadwork. Ippo then opens his guard and goes into the brawling stance.
