Summary

The day before the weigh-in, Kojima's coach looks for Kojima at the Bōsō Jumbo as he said he would pick him up before the weigh-in. He remembers Kojima telling him that he would apologise to everyone after the match since he knows he said bad things. The coach finds Kojima passed out at the sauna. The next day, as the weigh-in and press conference arrives, Ippo, Takamura, Aoki, Kimura Itagaki, Kamogawa, and Yagi arrive to the Roigal Hotel. As Aoki and Kimura carry Takamura's champion belts, Takamura tells them that they better look after his belts. Aoki and Kimura thinks they should throw them in the dumpster. Itagaki, Kamogawa, and Yagi goes with Ippo to his weigh-in with Kojima. While Itagaki is worried about what Kojima will say at the weigh-in, Ippo is not worried about what Kojima might say to him as he has faith in Kamogawa's advice and his training. When the group enters the weigh-in room, Ippo is shocked by how frail Kojima looks from his weight control. Kamogawa tells Ippo that that is the body Kojima built to fight him, and to not let appearances deceive him, nor give him any pity. He suggests for Ippo to show Kojima the body he built in order to fight him. The reporters are shocked as Ippo takes off his shirt, thinking that he built his body more than when he fought Shimabukuro, and compares Ippo's body to Kojima's frail body, wondering if it will be much of a fight. After Ippo and Kojima pass their weight check, Kamogawa and Yagi run to Takamura's weigh-in. While going there, Yagi notes how Kojima's body just looked like skin and bones, but Kamogawa claims that they shouldn't judge too hastily, as he can gain weight before the match and be bigger than Ippo. However, Yagi points out that if he gains weight quickly, he won't have any stamina. Kamogawa thinks Kojima was making a kind of declaration that he would win early on. As Ippo and Itagaki prepare to leave to go to Takamura's weigh-in room, the reporters ask Ippo for a comment on his upcoming match. Ippo answers that he is planning to do what he has trained to do, and thinks that he did a good job preparing this time, so he wishes to work hard. Kojima comments that Ippo should take his match more seriously. Seeing as Ippo is trying to ignore him, Kojima gets Ippo's attention when he tells him that he will lay out what his weakness is for him.
