Summary
As the seventh round ends, Ippo's eyes are swollen shut and he goes to Gedo's corner to sit down before being told he was in the wrong corner. The audience believes that Ippo is in no condition to continue fighting. At the correct corner, Ippo's swollen eyes are healed after Kamogawa, having placed his hands in a bucket of ice for forty seconds, placed his icy cold hands on them. At Gedo's corner, Gedo believes that he won't be covering his heart by instinct anymore, as he still has some magic left that will prevent Ippo from getting too close to him. As the eighth round begins, Kamogawa hands Yagi the towel since his hands are still numb from the ice, and he didn't think the match would turn out this bad for Ippo. Kamogawa claims that he can't exchange this one match for Ippo's entire future, telling Yagi to throw the towel immediately if he gives the signal. Ippo can see clearly and wants to answer Kamogawa's hopes. Gedo plans to use more magic to make everyone remember he is the magician and remember the magic show's finale.
