Summary
Aoki wakes up with Tomiko on the day of his JBC lightweight title match against Imae and is surprised by how calm he is. Later at the Kōrakuen Hall, Ippo, Takamura, and Kimura arrive and notice how crowded it is for Aoki's match. They go in to see Itagaki at his room as he is having his first match of the East Japan Rookie King Tournament before Aoki's match. Itagaki is fired up due to the amount of people and because his father said that he will come and watch. When Aoki enters the room and acts calm, Takamura questions if he is really Aoki since he should be nervous, pulling him from the entrance of the room and discovers that he has been holding Tomiko's hand the whole time. Outside the room, Imae passes by and is disgruntled by how noisy it is in his opponent's room, deeming him pathetic. Kamogawa informs Itagaki that it is time for his match. Ippo, Takamura, and Kimura leave to cheer for Itagaki as Aoki stays behind to get ready for his title match. At the ring, Itagaki is having trouble against his opponent, which Itagaki believes he is having trouble because he ate a lot before the match. In Aoki's room, Aoki hears the commotion from the ring and becomes worried about what will happen to him if Itagaki is having trouble with his match that was supposed to be a one-sided match for him. Aoki goes to the bathroom in hopes that urinating will make him calmer. However, while going to the bathroom, he meets Imae, who was about to enter as well. The two talk while urinating, and Imae reveals how he broke up with his girlfriend to concentrate on boxing, vowing to show him the strength of a serious boxer. Aoki laughs, replying that Imae threw his goddess of victory away, and that he will show him the strength of a man with someone to look over them. Agitated, Imae demands Aoki to show him it, however, when he turned toward Aoki, he wasn't finished urinating and urinated on Aoki's clothes.
