I Realise Now is Round 1374 of Jōji Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo manga series.
Details
- Title Page Character(s): Ryō Mashiba, Juan García
Summary
Surprised that Juan is still looking to fight after the last attack, Mashiba prepares a final rush as he himself is at his limits. Mashiba throws combinations at the defenceless Juan until the referee stops him and signals an end to the match, resulting in Mashiba winning by knockout in the seventh round. As Mashiba's seconds congratulate him in the ring, Mashiba thinks of how he thought the match was over many times, blowing away previous thoughts of anyone who can't win through slugfests is a quitter with no strength, and that the world stage is not a place where one can go and and stand by oneself. Mashiba acknowledges that the matches Ippo fought were like the one he just fought, realising that he used up all he had and was finished, making Ippo not a quitter, but an incredible man. While Mashiba's seconds are excited to go to the world stage, Mashiba has something to say.
