Details
- Title Page Character(s): Ippo Makunouchi, Jimmy Sisphar, Shimakawa
Summary
With Ippo laying flat on the canvas, the first round ends. The referee declares the down as a slip, shocking everyone. The announcer reveals to the audience that Ippo got hit by Sisphar's inner elbow, not his fist, so it did not count as a down. In Sisphar's corner, his coach tells him that Ippo's spirit should be broken, advising for him to crush his body as well, however, Sisphar knows that his spirit isn't broken due to the way he avoided a direct hit from his Tornado Jolt. In Ippo's corner, Kamogawa tells Shinoda and Yagi how Ippo's strategy that he used to avoid a direct hit of the Tornado Jolt was one of the strategies to go against Miyata. Kamogawa notes that Ippo sticking his head forward as it hit to disrupt the point of impact as a reflex from training to do it to Miyata's counters. Ippo confirms that it was from the training, and is glad he did as it came in handy as he claims that Sisphar is strong and was worried he might not make it back to his corner. Kamogawa tells Ippo that Sisphar's style is almost entirely focused on offensive ability, and that they aren't throwaway punches, as they are Jolt Blows with all of his body weight behind them. Ippo is told by Kamogawa how he doesn't have his usual advantage of close range fights, but there's is only one thing he can to do. As soon as the second round begins, Ippo rushes towards Sisphar.
