Summary
As the JBC featherweight title match ends in Ippo's victory, the seconds from both sides enter the ring. As Ippo almost falls backwards while celebrating his victory, Kamogawa catches him, praising how hard he fought against Take, who he feels also worthy of praise. As Take lays on his back and takes up a fighting pose when his coach calls out to him, his coach tells him that he can drop his fighting pose, and that he was magnificent. Take realises that his title match is finally over. Itagaki notes that Ippo's hook was just like how Kimura described before, and destroyed the will power of a veteran with it. Aoki and Kimura feel down whenever they see someone young beat up a veteran like that, but Itagaki yells at them as they should be happy that their gym mate won. Takamura is sure that Take will retire, as this was his last chance because of his age. Hide is in tears as he watches his father leave the ring. Outside of the Kōrakuen Hall, Take tells Hide and Keiko that he is happy that Ippo was his last opponent. Take tells Hide that he will take him to the amusement park tomorrow as promised, despite Keiko suggesting that he should rest. Hide tells Take that he really wanted to go to the amusement park, but after watching him fight, he found something else he wants. Take asks him what it is he wants.
