Details
- Title Page Character(s): Ippo Makunouchi, Haruhiko Yagi, Genji Kamogawa
Summary
Ippo realises that an OPBF champion would be better than a JBC champion. Kamogawa explains to Ippo that he isn't comparing OPBF and JBC, he is comparing his and Miyata's abilities and weapons. Despite believing he would lose, he still wants to fight Miyata. Yagi then tells Ippo that Kamogawa just wants him to wait until he becomes stronger. Ippo then asks how strong and how many times does he have to defend his title, as he's not sure he can win anymore and wants to fight Miyata in his best condition. Kamogawa, angry at what Ippo's saying, hits Ippo, telling him that if this is his peak, then forget about Miyata. Ippo then states that he will make Kamogawa let him fight Miyata, as he will become stronger, Kamogawa then agrees that he will let him if he does. Kamogawa believed that separating Ippo and Miyata would let them improve with their own work and let out their hidden talents. Kamogawa realises that, against Miyata's counter, Ippo's Dempsey Roll is his own greatest weakness. Kamogawa doesn't want to tell Ippo that the Dempsey Roll that gave him confidence is his fatal weakness. Yagi notes that Ippo's opponents will come up with strategies against the Dempsey Roll, which Kamogawa believes if Ippo can overcome them, he will meet Miyata in the ring. The following day at the gym, Ippo spars with Itagaki and Kimura using his Dempsey Roll to polish it, in order to defeat anyone.
